2014 is coming to a close and 2015 is literally right around the corner.

As I look into the new year, I’ve set a number of goals. One of my big goals has to do with financial numbers I’m going to hit in 2015.

In order to make it a reality, there are things I have to do differently.

Listen to This Episode

The fact is this – doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity, and although I just might be a tad bit insane 😉 when it comes to my business, I try to keep on the sane side of the street.

As you think about the new year, it’s quite possible that you also have some monetary goals that you’ve set.

Well I want to help to equip you to make that a reality.

Five Ways To Make More Money In 2015

There are a bunch of things that you can do to make more money in 2015. In this episode, I’m going to be talking about 5 things you can do. Here are the things I cover.

Get Rid Of Things You’re Paying For

This is something that’s often overlooked, but can make a HUGE difference in your business. I’ve made the decision to really get serious about tracking my finances in 2015. As I was going through my budget, I realized that there were a number of things I’ve been paying for and not really using.

Wasting Money

In other words, I was walking up to the proverbial toilet each and every month, throwing my money in and giving it a nice flush. By just combing through these details and making practical decisions, I was able to get rid of $147.77/month of services that I either wasn’t using or could do without.

That’s a total of $1,773.24 saved over the course of the year. It took me about an hour to log into a few accounts, hit the cancel button, make a few calls and let companies know that I was canceling my account.

In that 1 hour, I made almost $1,800 more. That’s a serious return on my investment of time 🙂

Create A New Digital Product

One of the best ways to make money with a blog is by creating and selling your own Digital Product. It’s why I have an entire course inside the Become A Blogger University on the topic of Digital Product Creation.

Think about it – you’re building your blog. You’re growing your subscriber base. Your target audience is getting to know, like and trust you. That puts you in the PERFECT position to create a product that offers a ton of value and sell it to them.

This can be an eBook, eCourse, Webinar product or anything else that can provide value to your audience.

My product is Become A Blogger University and it has really opened up a world of opportunity for me, and increased my income significantly.

Most of the people who listen to Learning With Leslie are building their blogs by educating people how to do something. Whether that’s how to make money, cook, do DIY projects, take control of their health or whatever else, you are still teaching.

Here’s the funny thing – there are MANY people who go to blogs to learn how to do something that would much rather paying someone to do it for them. Guess what – YOU can be that someone.

Or you could do what I did – offer coaching/consulting. I limit how much of this I do, but it has become a bulk of my income.

Improve Your Sales Funnel

Improve Your Sales Funnel

This one is close to my heart right now because it’s something I REALLY need to do. It’s something that I teach people how to do but need to work on myself 😉

When people sign up for your free resource, the ultimate goal is to get them to purchase the awesome products that you’ve created – right?

Well, if you do things right, a certain percentage of those free subscribers will become paid customers, and there is a lot that you can do to increase that percentage. You can work on your follow up sequence, create a better sales page, add powerful testimonials, or simply make it more obvious on your blog that you have something for sale.

It’s much harder to get more traffic to your blog than it is to increase your conversion rate. Start there and build from there.

Pitch Yourself More

Pitch Yourself

I was having a conversation with a good friend on Facebook the other day – a former guest on the show, Lauren Greutman. She had been extremely successful recently in landing media interviews and press. She was on Dr. Oz twice, featured in Business Insider and Consumer Reports – to name a few.

I asked her how she did that and her response surprised me (even though I really shouldn’t be surprised). She said “I spend about an hour a day pitching myself to media”. In other words, she was ACTIVELY pitching herself on a regular basis – more regularly than I’ve ever pitched anything to anyone.

That pointed out something very important to me. If you build it, they will not come. You HAVE TO be proactive about putting yourself out there. If you have value to offer, pitch that value and do it regularly.

Lets Wrap This Up

Nothing I mentioned here is Rocket Science. It makes sense, and it’s all something we can do. So, lets be proactive about our financial success in 2015. We can do this.

Question: Which of these things are you planning on doing in 2015? Let me know in the comments below.
