I'm on Pinterest, but I have to be honest – I didn't get it.

I've seen that there are a bunch of people getting a ton of traffic from Pinterest, but how can it help me?

Well, if you've asked these questions before, you're questions are about to be answered.

Inside This Interview

Whenever I have someone on this show more than once, you know it's because they've got something special. That's definitely the case for Lauren Greutman from I Am That Lady.

In our previous interview, she really offered a ton of value teaching us how to land media exposure for our blogs.

Well, a few days ago, I say something she posted in a private Facebook Group we're a part of.

In that post, she spoke about a very specific Pinterest Strategy she used that caused her Pinterest traffic to look like this:

Change in Pinterest Traffic after using her strategy

Can you see why I had to get her on here?

It's like from one day to the next, Pinterest became alive for her.

It's obvious that she gets something that I have no clue about, and you know – she definitely over delivers in this interview.

In this interview, Lauren Reveals:

  • Whether Pinterest can work for bloggers outside of niches like DIY, recipes and all that stuff
  • How to rotate boards for maximum effectiveness
  • How using Group boards can really help drive traffic
  • How to find the right group boards
  • How often she posts on Pinterest
  • How she tracks her Pinterest activity to see what's working
  • How you can use Pinterest parties to boost traffic quickly

She also went into detail about how she organizes her Pinterest boards and pins and when I saw her page, it all made sense.

How to Subscribe To The Show

  • Leslie, I noticed that when I pin your infographics, I get tons of followers, so I was surprised to learn that you weren’t a big Pinterest user but I can see how this will be very beneficial to become a blogger. Thanks for a great post.

  • Kim says:

Hey Leslie, thanks for such a great podcast! I’ve had some arbitrary success on my first blog through Pinterest. I’ve barely written anything in the past few months on this particular blog and my traffic is still holding consistent, almost all from one particular pin. It blows me away! Your interview with Lauren was perfect for me as I launch my new blog. Like she said towards the end, just pinning can lead to traffic generation, but I loved the tips about group boards… I had no idea!! And the 8 and 2 rule is awesome! I think she is totally right, too. A lot of non-food or non-diy blogs don’t take advantage of how awesome pinterest is yet…. Making infographics for your posts goes a long way on pinterest (especially since competition is relatively low right now for other niches)!

    • Glad to hear you enjoyed the interview and got so much value from it. Yep, Pinterest is obviously hot stuff right now and I look forward to exploring it even more.

  • Pinterest is hands down my #1 traffic source. I utilize group boards, viraltag, ahalogy, Pin Parties, and extensive spreadsheets as well and have found a great amount of success over the last 2 years. You think 20 pins a day is a lot?? I strive for 40-50 and have had no complaints at all. Pinterest is turning into Twitter, in the sense that the life of a pin is so short. So many people are following so many other people that it’s impossible for them to see every single pin, so pinning frequent, quality content is probably the best bet.

  • Marcus says:

Great tips Leslie, applying the lessons learned now.

  • Topogane says:

Great tip. Thank you, i will start posting on Pinterest every day

  • Alexander K. says:

That`s a very useful article. I`m glad that I`ve found it. I also enjoyed listening the interview with Lauren. Keep up the great work.

  • Tyvek Wady says:

I don t agree that you can t pin your own stuff many pinners don t click through to the origins of the pin they are pinning. So saying you don t follow someone who pins there own images doesn t make sense.
