By Leslie Samuel | Blogging

May 21

AHHHHHH, so much going on right now. Life sure can get crazy. Ok here's the rundown:

  • My wife and I had a beautiful baby boy almost 6 months ago (you parents know what that means)
  • I'm a University Professor teaching Anatomy, Neuroscience and Pathophysiology in a Doctoral program
  • I run Become A Blogger and Interactive Biology – my two blogs/businesses
  • I've had to travel to Colombia twice over the last month to be with my mother who's going through medical treatment
  • I'm about to start my PhD

Listen to This Episode

multitaskingNow, I'm definitely NOT complaining here, just setting the foundation for what you're going to listen to in this episode. Life gets CRAZY, but there are things we can do to make sure that our blogs/businesses will continue to grow even in those hectic times.

For this episode, we have a special guest – my little Noah. Yep, I was on “daddy duty” while recording this episode, and Noah was well behaved. So together, we spoke about some of the things that I've done that have really allowed my business to continue even when I'm not able to work.

I also share some of the things I didn't do well and how you can do better. The fact is – having an online business these days allows you to set systems up in place like never before – so why not take advantage of that?

Announcements

  • I'm going through the process of redoing Become A Blogger Premium. I didn't share all of the details, but I wanted you to be aware of that fact and to be on the lookout for awesome things to come.
  • I WILL be doing a meetup in Cincinnati, OH while I'm there for the Savvy Blogging Conference. I'll be working on the details over the next few weeks and letting you know about it.

Hi Les, nice to hear that everything is OK with your mother and family. Finally 3 weeks ago I subscribed to Aweber and put my auto responder to work. I also put my opt-in box on my blog and already some people subscribed. I still have to split test which design and what text works best, but that’s part of the job. To increase the chance of people opting in I also ask them to subscribe first before they can download my pdf files, the written versions of all my posts. I feel it’s also time to slowly start promoting and selling some music products. Everything takes time, so we have to be patient anyway. Good points you’ve got there, Les
How to keep yourself together in turbulent times and be honest with your audience, great advice. Happy you’re back and everything is well with you and give my regards to little Noah from uncle Hans.

    • Hans, congrats on your progress with your mailing list. That’s awesome. As I ALWAYS say, that’s probably your most important asset when it comes to your blog. So yes, keep working at it. I’d be interested in hearing how your product promotions go. Keep me updated.

Also, I will relay the message to your little nephew 🙂

    Hi Leslie,

Bless you for all the things you are doing to help Imers fulfill their goals and congrats to your latest blessing, Noah.

I don’t know if this is the place to ask your help regarding affiliate marketing. I am looking for somebody to help me with affiliate marketing. have 2 sites which I outsourced but it’s not doing anything. The first one, pearshapedengagementringsstore.com used to promote Gemvara but they closed their partnership with ShareaSale and moved somewhere else. I have an account with CJ but I don’t know how to get the jewelry affiliates from there to my website and start monetizing it. The second one I hired somebody from fiverr which used google to promote a clickbank product but again, what was supposed to be a t least $500 per month income is until now, $0.

If I could get this cleared up, I would like to start blogging and I would need help on that too. I have prayed for the right direction and ti seemed that your email is the answer to my problem.

    Thanks,

    Estrelita
