If you enjoyed the last X-Factor video I sent you, you will simply LOVE the one I’m giving away today…

Today’s complimentary video shows you how to get audio onto your blog by only using your phone, your computer, and an internet connection.

It really doesn’t get any easier than this.

You literally only have to be able talk on your phone, and click a few buttons on a website to be able to use this amazing new service.

What’s especially great about this service, is that it doesn’t cost you a thing, and you get to broadcast your message to a worldwide audience.

It’s a bit like having your very own radio station, except, it wont cost anything to set up, and you have to potential to reach a global market.

Oh, and the best part, you don’t need to worry about how the audio gets recorded and how to stream it from your blog. Everything is given to you on a “platter” and you just have to follow the easy step-by-step instructions.

But it’s all in the video that I made for you above…

Once you’ve watched the video, make sure you leave your comment on the website. I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on it, and how you might use it on your own blog.

Talk soon!

I like this concept and the video is, as usual, very good.

The only way I can currently get Audio onto my site on Wordpress.com is wrapped in an ODT file. I am using a pre-intel Apple powerbook and the relative lack of freeware for Audio and video capture is a pain.

This could be a solution, though as I am currently in the UK I have to be careful about phone costs.

I am not using images and audio as much as I like now we have a rising visual culture. I plan adding an article on our post-literate AV culture soon.

I will probably watch the video several times before I feel ready to use it properly.

That was awesome! I write book reviews and I’ve wanted to interview authors. I always wondered how people recorded phone conversations and was looking into getting a spy recorder! Oh my. I’m way behind the times here.

I’m assuming that blogtalkradio retains ownership of the show? And you mentioned that I can transcribe the show. How do I do that? I have a transcriber that I use to transcribe tapes that has a foot pedal and headphone jack. But how to easily transcribe from blogtalkradio?

Thanks, Gideon. If you can save me all the research time to find out about marketing opportunities and tools, then I’ll be looking into your premium service.

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hi Joanne

As far as I know you get to have the ownership, but you’re allowing BlogTalkRadio to use it on their site. It’s a very similar situation as to that of submitting videos to YouTube - only with BlogTalkRadio, it’s just audio.

For transcribing the audio, you have at least a couple of options:

1. Do it yourself (a bit time consuming)
2. Pay someone else to do it for you (you can use a service like http://www.elance.com)

Either way, it won’t get done automatically. Although, technology is slowly catching up to be able to turn your voice into words without too much hassle. But I dont think we’re quite there yet…

This is so thrilling! Is there any type of media that people in their own homes can’t produce? I always thought I would enjoy having a radio station, and now I have no excuse not to try.

I wanted to let you know that these videos are of excellent quality. They are easy to follow, pleasant to listen to, and filled with good information. Gideon, you have a lovely speaking voice! Wow! Gideon,
Much thanks—again You just keep sending stuff I can use. I actually had my own 30 minute talk radio show years ago, so this will make a perfect fit to my
NewbieToGuruBlog.com I’m building right now!

One question (I’ll probably find out when I sign up) but….

Is there a time limit to the show recordings?

Thanks again

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hi Denny (Yoda)

Thanks for you nice comments!

Yes, last time I checked, the recording time limit is 2hrs. Not to bad given that on YouTube you only get 10 minutes!

Perhaps BlogTalkRadio will change it in the future some time, but I haven’t had a need for more than 2 hrs myself yet.

Thank you for this informative post! What do you recommend for producing your audio format. I know nothing about timing, topics, recommended recording lengths and practicing. To refine your audio prior to “going line”, what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,

Robert.

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hey Robert

There are some great tips on the BlogTalkRadio site, but here is what I would do at a minimum:

1. Create a brief general introduction (practice this beforehand or read it off from a script)
2. Create a general outline for the talk
3. Always mention at the start something exciting that’s coming up during the interview - that way you will keep people interested for longer.
4. Create a brief general conclusion ((practice this beforehand or read it off from a script)

In saying this though, some of the best content I’ve ever listened to has been unstructured/unplanned.

But have a look on the BlogTalkRadio site as well - there’s plenty of extra info there.

Great information.

One question: how do you record the show? Does Blogtalk record it for you and give you the embed code?

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Jane

Correct!

BlogTalkRadio does all the recording for you in the background. At the end of the recording, you will get access to the embed code for that recording.

Great ideas and probably the best instructional videos I’ve seen. Easy to understand, terrific zoom-ins so I can really SEE what you’re talking about.

I’ve been testing BTR before going live with it. If anyone else wants to do this, just make sure in your settings to mark the show as “private.”

I like your suggestion about transcribing the audio and turning it into a regular blog post. That should help my SEO, right? Google can’t crawl through the audio recording, can they?

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hey Sheryl

Yes, it would definitely help with SEO.

Google can’t crawl through an audio recording yet…but they’re working on it. They’re experimenting heavily with the audio content of video at the moment.

See the link below for more details:

(you can search for “text” inside the videos - just amazing stuff)

Yaro,

I have seen some IM’ers out there use blogtalkradio, but never actually thought about using myself till just now. I’m a little slow. :)
Thanks Yaro for making what was right in front of my nose obvious.

I didn’t notice in your video, but is it easy to have several people phone in during the recording to do that interview style podcasting.

Also, can you take the recordings and upload them to Itunes or other podcast web properties…?

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hey Matthew

Gideon here…

Yes, you can have several people (as many as you want in fact) call in to listen to your recording live. It’s pretty powerful.

I haven’t seen the iTunes feature for BlogTalkRadio yet, but you can always just download the mp3 files, and create your own feed on iTunes.

Gideon,

Luckily for me you produce great content that I can read because my Adobe Flash Player 10 doesn’t work so I can not hear the audio. All other audios work, for instance RealPlayer and Windows Media but not Flash. Trust me, I’ve tried to fix it, but I can’t find that one thing that will make it work.

Anyway, when you have a downloadable audio I usually do that then listen on a different medium.

Was there a downloadable for this one or a pdf file?

Thanks…

Jeff

P.S. Thanks for all the great stuff! I’m really enjoying the process!

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hey Jeff

I’m not 100% sure whether I fully understand your question since I normally provide downloads for the videos… and not the audios as such.

But in any case, I’ve added download links for both the transcript and the video (just below the video on this page).

All the best!

Jeffrey Synk Reply:

Gideon,

Sorry about the ambiguity. Yeah, I was looking for something downloadable that I could run through some other application since when I try to watch/listen to your presentations on the web page, I only get the video portion and no audio.

I have the same problem with any video that uses Adobe Flash Player 10.

Anyway, I wasn’t looking hard enough and found the link.

Thanks for the reply and sorry about the confusion.

Hi Guys
great content as always. You always find such interesting tricks and then find great ways to explain them to the uninitiated!

Quick question: Once you have copied the embedded code, how do you paste it to your blog so it doesn’t show as code? Is there any particular way to do this or is it straightforward?

Thanks

Christine

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hi Christine

Thanks!

You need to paste the embed code into your blog as html.

Ok, so what does this mean you ask?

It depends a bit where you want to add the player. If you simply want to add the player inside a blog post or page, just make sure when you’re creating the post or page, that you click on the “HTML” tab and then add the embed code. Clicking one the “HTML” tab allows you to see the html code for your post or page, and this is where you need to add the embed code.

Adding the embed code to the sidebar is a little different. But I’ll be covering that later inside one of the videos inside the Premium area.

I notice that you’re a premium member, so you can already go into the member only forum area, and ask more questions about it there.

That’s the benefit of being a member :)
All the best!

I have been learning so much from your free Videos. I try to implement all that I learn before going to the next video. The problem with this strategy, is that I may loose out on some key elements, such as revenue streams while building my blogs.

I am currently building three blogs that I have extensive knowledge of.

jplenterprises.blogspot.com is an introductory web site for foreclosure prevention via Loss-Mitigation. This is true one stop shop for foreclosure prevention, as well as a MLM business opportunity for all. We offer some free courses that will show people hoe to sell their property quickly and at top dollar, buy using rent-to-own techniques. We have credit repair, (How-to-get-a-new-social security number legally. This blog is the door-way to wwww.jplenterprises.com. Both the blog and the website will have video courses showing people how to get out of their foreclosure problems quickly.

The next Blog is HRH Hurricane Resistant Home. I have a TV Commercial and video trainning showing people how to build their own Hurricane Resistant. homes. We have a system that will show you how to have all of your concrete walls up in one day, and it’s all on video. This blog is being developed at http://HurricaneResistanthomes.blogspot.com

There are others that I choose not to reveal as of yet.

I want you to know that your videos have been the primary catalyst that has been helping me put all of this together.
Blogging is a truly unique business opportunity. Because, you can be anywhere around the world and create your blogs for everyone to see. Fore example: I am sitting in my room, in shorts and in Puerto Rico. I am waiting for the waves to come up so I can go surfing. DA, how much better of a lifestyle could you possibly want, other then to be rich. And, that my friend we all working towards.

Thank you for all of your help.]

Sincerely,

Phillip Lao

This is exactly what I was looking for, THANK YOU! I am very new to blogging and am so excited to launch my site but want to have my house in order before inviting everyone over. I wanted to add several interviews with experts but did not have any clue about podcasts and it sounds like the learning curve is pretty steep to go that way. Just watched the video on Blogtalk, what a good idea! The only question I have is if you are on a broadband line, how does that work?

Would be interested in exploring this further….

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Hi Chris

Yeah, BlogTalkRadio is great!

What exactly do you mean by being on a broadband line? Are you asking whether you could use your internet connection and something like Skype instead of a phone?

If so, the answer is yes. I’ve used Skype before and it seemed to work pretty well.

If this does not answer your question, could you please be a bit more specific as to what you are trying to achieve?

Regards

Gideon

[Reply]

Chris Gaynor Reply:

Sorry Gideon, what I meant was I have a phoneline downstairs and my internet connection upstairs… The phone and internet are on the same line, (I think, anyway) So, do you know if I could still use Blogtalk like that? Do you need both a phone and a conncection at the same time?

let me know if you can help…

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Ah I see…

Well, it depends. Over in this part of the world, we can use our broadband connections at the same time as talking on the phone.

As far as I know, you can just use your phone to make the calls to BlogTalkRadio, but then, your options will be much reduced. For example, you wont be able to see the chat window and the questions people are asking there.

But why not test it out, and see what happens?

If just the phone option does not work for you, have you considered using Skype, and just doing everything without even using your phone? That might solve your problem.

I have been using the info from your audio training course on Blog Masterming.
Submitting articles: I wrote an article for Free-Guide to spot foreclosure.
The article submissions came up on google searches before I sent my pointer from Godaddy to my blog at http://jplenterprises.com. So much for the power of article submissions.

Viseo: I just added my TV commercial for a niche market to my Blog. At
http://hurricanereistanthomes.blogspot.com I am using free blogs for niche markets. I am also using free traffic analyzers to check stats. I then use free traffic generators. I will keep this a secret for now.

OK, I will give you a hint. Check out my TV Hurricane Resistant TV commercial at: That is me by the way. Watch me live at. Put this in your browser.

Yaro and Gideon,
I received the following question from one of my blog’s readers:

“I am interested in starting one of Yarak’s programs. I’ve come across 2 that seem good, here on your site. Can you tell me the difference between the “Become a Blogger” Program which closes in a few days and the “Blog Mastermind” program? Focus, length of time, price, etc.”

This was my response:

“Probably the biggest difference between the two is Become a Blogger is a video-based course. Each lesson is provided as a video so you can see the steps. Blog Mastermind is a mix of videos, audio and content.

Another difference (in my opinion) is Become a Blogger focuses quite a few videos on setting up your blog. It explains why you should use WordPress, how to set up web hosting, etc. Blog Mastermind touches on these areas, but doesn’t focus on them.

Another difference is Become a Blogger focuses a lot on utilizing multimedia on your blog (videos, images, audio). Blog Mastermind discusses podcasting and focuses a lot on content creation (blog posts) and even discusses selling blogs.

The last difference is the price. Become a Blogger costs $47/mo for 6 months and Blog Mastermind costs $97/mo for 6 months (or a one-time payment of $497).

Both programs offer videos, content, audio, a member’s forum and resources. I’ve really enjoyed Blog Mastermind so far. I’m planning on joining Become a Blogger this week as well.

I think Become a Blogger is a great course for people who need to learn how to create a blog and for those who want to focus on multimedia creation. Also, if you learn best by watching videos, this would be a good course for you.

Blog Mastermind is a serious course for turning your blog into your full-time income source. You might get lost if you don’t know how to create a blog, though it does touch on that a little. It focuses on how to create killer content, how to set up a newsletter and how to get your name out there.”

Yaro and Gideon - Can you please tell me if my response was on point? Did I list the correct distinctions? Also, she wanted to know if you offer a discount for purchasing both courses. Thanks!

[Reply]

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Thanks Keller!

That’s a great summary of the difference between the two programs…

And yes, we do offer a discount when people go for the both programs - but only for this week :)

Thanks for your support!
