Today I had the honor to interview Chris Garrett from www.ChrisG.com

It was an amazing interview where I really got inside Chris’s head and extracted some very useful tips to help you become more successful as a blogger.

Inside today’s interview, you will learn about:

  • What an authority blog is and why you should definitely create one
  • The 4 step success formula Chris recommends for becoming an authority blogger…
  • How to use your blog to “brand” yourself, and why “personal branding” is such a greatly misunderstood term
  • How to use social media properly for mass exposure… it’s not exactly what you think!
  • And Chris’s top 3 traffic generation tips (you’ll love these ones)…
  • And much much more…

To visit Chris’s blog, please go to:

Remember to leave a comment and get involved in the discussion. I LOVE hearing from you and interacting with you here - that’s what it’s all about, and that’s the best way we can all learn about this stuff.

Talk soon!

Glad the audio worked out - the internet gremlins were against us today!

Hey Chris

Yeah there were a few funny dead spots, but given that we are on exactly opposite sides of the world, I think it went ok :)

Thanks again for an amazing interview!

I’ve been a fan of Chris’ for a long time, so I’m really looking forward to the tips he provides in the audio. If I could achieve a tenth of his success I’d be pretty happy!

This guy is fantastic… sometimes we get too wrapped up in the technical side of internet marketing and blogging and forget that the real road to success is through building a valuable resource that people will want to exchange their time and money for.

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

Very true Russ

And I particularly liked what he said about just being real and being “you” and realizing that whenever you interact online, that you’re interacting with real human beings.

Very powerful!

Great interview, it’s amazing how you learn something new everyday. The one question I would have is I’m in a niche where there’s not MUCH scope for ‘helping traditional sense, although I’m trying to carve out something like that for the niche. I think it maybe tricky though. Still learnt a lot from the interview. Great stuff!

Gideon Shalwick Reply:

What’s your niche?

Maybe we (as in everyone here) can help you brainstorm?

Hi Gideon,

My niche is UK Politics (basically just entertaining people and commenting on news.) It’s either very boring to most, or just one of those niches where it’s unlikely to make a profit. However, I have done the sensible thing and I’m not too bothered about the dollars as I’m passionate about the niche.

But we all need to eat…..

web address is http://www.plenty2say.com….I ‘d love to get some down to earth advice on whether this niche really can be made profitable, or whether I should set up a niche on the side as well and do that blog as a hobby!

Good stuff with the interviews….

Great interview. I especially love the focus on giving to your readers, i.e., finding out what they want, adding value and solving a need. Taking 100% responsibility for the relationship we have with our audience will help pave the way to success, I believe.
On another note, the Become A Blogger Premium course is awesome — I am loving it heaps!

Hi G & Y:

Thanks for given me the opportunity to listen to your video interview with
Chris G.

Listening to Chris, he is quite an amazing guy and a phylosopher. Not
meeting with him but just listening to him on your video, he is quite a very smart guy, psycologist, and phylosopher that knows what he is talking about or engaged in over the years. What an assets to all the bloggers out there.

Again, I really thank both of you for given me an opportunity to be part of this great interview.

I learn quite a bit for listening to this video.

I know I can use his knowledged gained over the years as a successful blogger

Of course, I am just getting started… I hope all of you can help me to become a successfull blogger as well

By the way, G & Y: Here is where I am today following your advise and lessons. I have built me a web site at (www.business4infor.com), and I have written and published my first blog titled “Bad Economy”
that was posted on at (http://wwwbusiness4infocom-bfir.blogspot.com/)

Again, thank you Gideon and Yaro for passing this great interview to me I really!! appreciate it very much.

Hi Gideon,
Nice one!
What amazes me is that people have to be TOLD this stuff!
I was brought up with the Golden Rule — do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Being a human being and treating others like human beings should be a GIVEN. What happened socially that has gotten people so far away from basic common sense and courtesy that they have to TOLD this stuff?
This apparently being the case, as I have found especially on Twitter, I am so glad you did this interview!
Thanks to both of you!

There is a strange thing where perfectly nice people turn into monsters when they go online, so yeah, common sense but not common practice so much ;)
