024 I Left my Job because of My blog

Blogging can result in so many different things for different people. For me, that means leaving my job and moving on to bigger and better things.

In today’s episode, I discuss the following:

I answer a question left by Tai, from about what to do to protect your blog from content thieves.

Don’t you hate when you work very hard to produce awesome content, and then someone comes along and then steals that content? I do.

It has happened to me many times, and it will probably continue to happen at an increasing pace.

In this episode, I tell you how I deal with it, and how I believe YOU should deal with it.

Then, I deal with one one of the biggest developments that has ever happened to me. As many of you know, I’ve been building my Interactive Biology Blog for a while now.

Well, it has lead to me leaving my job. Why did I leave my job? You will have to listen to the episode to find out. All I’ll say here is the following:

  • My blog has opened up new doors for me
  • Without my blog, these developments would not have happened
  • I believe in the power of blogging more now than EVER
  • If you aren’t blogging, you should be getting on the bandwagon

I’d really like to hear what you think about what you heard in this episode. Has blogging opened up doors for you? If so, how?

I want to say congratulations Leslie!  You knew when you started that biology blog it was something coming from your heart telling you to do it.  You listened and now you’re reaping the rewards for it, while helping so many people through your blog!  You’ve worked hard for the good things coming to you, I’m very happy for you!

    • Leslie Samuel July 6, 2011 at 2:52 am #

      Thanks for the encouragement Elizabeth.

Such an inspiration Leslie. I’m so happy for you. Thanks for giving me guidance about those nasty content scrapers! At least I got a back link from them.

You have shown me that being persistent with your business and creating quality content will take you to places that you could only dream of going to.

I guess I will be in St. Lucia on the beach soon! :-)

    • Leslie Samuel July 7, 2011 at 7:59 pm #

You’re very much welcome. Thanks for asking the question. Glad to know that you are motivated by the podcast. Hey, with a site name like Travel To St. Lucia, I should hope that you’ll be on the beach soon ;)

    Hey Leslie,

Great podcast. Motivational. instructional. And I too believe that God will direct each of us to our purpose, if we allow him. (I too have experienced similar situation)

    Congrats man! Congrats.

    • Leslie Samuel July 13, 2011 at 10:55 pm #

You are right on it Kantis. Yep, as long as we allow Him!

    • Leslie Samuel July 17, 2011 at 5:15 am #

Make sure to listen to the episode Greg. Yes, I left my job, but not for the typical reason you hear from Internet Marketers. Kind of a different twist. I look forward to interacting with you more here too!

You are very much welcome Nixon. Glad you found it inspirational. Yes, it can be a challenge to find what works for you, but once you’ve found it, stick with it and do it as best as you can. It pays off.

  11. Mari July 16, 2011 at 3:24 am #

I like your approach to content thieves.  I recently had to deal with that also. But I have since taken your approach and just let it go as it is not worth the time or energy, plus things will fall into place in due time. Great podcast by the way!  I wish you continued success…..

    • Leslie Samuel July 17, 2011 at 5:16 am #

Yep Mari, I used to spend sooo much time worrying about that earlier on. It’s just not worth it. Glad you enjoyed the podcast, and hope to have you as a regular subscriber. All the best!

    • Leslie Samuel July 17, 2011 at 5:18 am #

      Hi Joe,

I haven’t been posting transcripts recently, but I’ve been thinking about hiring someone to do that again. Would that be something you find valuable?

That’s amazing it’s to see such success. You need to be focused and determined to have that moment in your life.

  18. Lela July 30, 2011 at 11:09 pm #

This is the first time that I have ever listened to your podcast. I must say congratulations to you. What you have described in your podcast reminds me a little of the movie Something the Lord has Made. Despite not having the educational qualifications nor experience, you still overcame. I think that it is very inspiring and something people need to realize that even if you don’t have the exact specifications God can intervene and help you overcome.

    • Leslie Samuel July 31, 2011 at 1:30 am #

Thanks for your comment Lela. I haven’t heard of that movie, but it definitely sounds interesting. And yes, I just LOVE God’s intervention. He’s awesome like that :)
