One of the most exciting things about doing what I do is that I get to talk to people who are doing some AMAZING things when it comes to internet marketing.
What makes it even better is when I get to interview people who I’ve imitated. Seriously. It’s awesome stuff. Well, this is an interview that I know you will enjoy.
I talk with Pat Flynn, from the Smart Passive Income blog, who first started making a dent on the internet world with his Green Exam Academy blog – A site that he started just to keep track of his notes to study for an architecture exam.
Fast forward a little bit and you see him Monetizing his blog by selling an eBook that made him $8,000 dollars in his first month and up to $30,000 in a month.
In this exciting interview, Pat talks about how he went from having a great job to being downsized to up-sizing his life using the tools available on the internet.
The cool thing about what he does is that he has set up his online empire to be a number of passive income streams.
What is most amazing about all of the things he does is that he spends 4 hours a day working on his business and accomplishes more than most people I know who work full time.
He doesn’t just talk about what he has done, but I also get him give step by step advice as to how he recommends for anyone (meaning you and I) to do the same.

Pat Flynn?!?!? That is so cool. I have been following him for awhile too. He is a very amazing individual and has the same kind of personality as you Leslie. I’ll be listening to this during the workout this afternoon.

So nice I had to listen twice! I have been following Pat Flynn for a while now as well. He gives such great FREE and honest content and has helped me a lot with my internet marketing education. I agree with Ryan that there are similarities between you Leslie and Pat which is a very good thing.
In the podcast Pat mentioned a checklist that he uses for each of his projects. I was wondering if there is a resource for a checklist for new bloggers? This would be very helpful to keep focused on what is important in the beginning to build a strong foundation in your business. Leslie do you have a checklist? I know that you include Task Sheets with your 7 day bootcamp but isn’t there more to do than what is on those sheets? Or is it just that simple where you finish and then repeat?
Glad you found value in this episode. It was definitely a great chat and I enjoyed it very much. Pat definitely delivers a ton of value with everything he does.
In terms of a checklist – I do have some that I use, but they are VERY specific to my business, and wouldn’t really apply in a generic way to anyone that wants to build an online business. The way I have approached it is like this – Do a process once (or find out what needs to be done) and record each step. Once you have that, that’s your checklist.
I use checklists for my outsourcers, not for me personally. I like them because they help train your outsourcers in a very clear way.
