It's something a little sneaky 😉
We all know that Networking is an important part of building any business, and yes – that also applies to an online business. So, I decided to give you a very practical example of Networking. How?
A few weeks ago I posted a question on Facebook. I asked something like: “Are you networking with people in your niche? If so, how's it going for you?”
One of the commenters (Brian Ramdhan) responded by saying that I should do teach how to do so on my blog.
That got me thinking, and I decided to do something a bit sneaky.
I've been wanting to do some serious networking for my biology blog. If I'm going to be leaving my job at the end of June, I really have to step up my game.
So I connected with Ryan Gray from Medical School HQ and asked him if he'd be up to having a convo and recording it for my podcast. He said yes. But then here's what I did . . .
We got on Skype and just started chatting. Of course, I hit record and he didn't know it. What followed was a genuine convo between two bloggers in complimentary niches. Some people like to call it – Networking. It doesn't get anymore practical than that.
At the beginning of the episode, I share some of my best networking tips and then jump over to the call.
This episode is a bit different, but I decided that different can be good. I guess you'll be the judge of that.
Let me know in the comments if you got value from this one.
Ryan is currently a practicing physician in the United States Air Force. Ryan graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Sciences, and received his M.D. from New York Medical College.
After graduating from medical school, Ryan completed his internship through a Tufts Medical Center transitional medicine program at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital.
Along with his wife Allison, he created Medical School HQ and The Medical School HQ Podcast, which takes the RELEVANT pre med and medical school topics and creates a one-stop shop for you to quickly get the information you need.
Some people just love being able to read along with interviews, or they might just prefer to skip the audio completely and just read through the transcript. Hey, if that’s what floats your boat, it is all good. Here’s the transcript just for you
